This is an exceptional Museum Quality rarest cameo depicting the Archangel Gabriel carved by one of the most known and celebrated carver of the Victorian era, James Ronca the cameo cutter to the Queen Victoria. James Ronca learnt the art of the carving from his father, an Italian who lived in the Italian part of Switzerland and that moved to London, James Ronca was born there and became one of the cameos carver to the Queen Victoria. I really have no words to describe the amazingly beauty of this piece. The Archangel is depicted looking upwards with his arms open and wings stretched out. His body is so finely carved that each perfect muscle can be clearly seen, everything is perfect. The carving is a three dimensional one. His flowing robe is so well made that seems you can see it while it moves in the wind. Simply wonderful. His peaceful face expression just communicate happiness and peace, you can really see love in his eyes. Each detail in this cameo is eye catching and really you are speechless looking at its infinite beauty. The delicacy of this piece is truly amazing. The signature of the carver is on the left bottom side and on the back. This is a real rarest cameo absolutely to not to miss.
