This is a more than Museum Quality tiara made of ivory and is a real rarest find. The most wonderful thing who makes this tiara unique is the ivory carving. The carving of the tiara is three-dimensional and it is just like a bas relief. The roses and the leaves are amazingly carved, The abundance of details is amazing and the carving is something which leaves you speechless. Look at how the roses are carved, really incredible. There are also many blossoms superbly carved. Every thing is intricately and superbly carved, flowers and leaves make this carving a true sculpture. Another thing who makes me amazed is the carving of the thorns on the stem's roses, they are just real. To complete the work there are two wonderful bows carved at both ends of the tiara to tie the two bouquets of roses of which the tiara is made. The fortunate lady who once owned this fantastic jewel worn a garden of roses on her head. How those carvers could make a such work of art? Dieppe, in France, was the most famous place for the working and carving of ivory and the carver who made this tiara was, with no doubt, a great master. Look at all the wonderful pictures of this artwork and you can see the real art. In the center of the tiara, surrounded by rose's blossoms and leaves, there is a wonderful hard stone cameo of a Nubian, she is wearing a gold and diamonds collar and earring and a gold and ruby hair ornament. All the Victorian spirit is in this cameo. Roses and bows were one of the symbols of the romantic Victorian era. This is a true amazing piece and, as I said above, finding a piece like this in this perfect conditions, is almost a miracle, I'm amazed that it survived almost intact since it was so delicate. This is a real great find and a must have for any collector.
