- Material: Hard Stone (Onyx) 15k gold tested.
- Size: 2 3/8" by 2 1/8" only mosaic is 1 6/8" by 1 1/2".
- Date and Origin: Circa 1860 Italy.
- Conditions: A couple of superficial cracks in the onyx, at 3:00 and 8:00 o'clock, which don't affect the mosaic, they don't go through the stone as the back is perfect. A few smallest nicks on the onyx edges and surface not noticeable by naked eye. A very few tesserae missed, I could say 4/5 only noticeable with the help of a loupe.
A museum quality, huge micro mosaic depicting a bouquet of flowers. This one is fantastic, the flowers really seem to be painted because the tesserae are so tiny and so masterly put together. Of course they are visible through the enlarged pictures but looking at the mosaic in person you really could say that it is a miniature and not a mosaic. A real stunning piece, so finely made micro mosaics are really hard to find and their prices are highest. The price of this one reflects of course the two small surface cracks. A must have for any collector.
