A lovely, wonderful cameo carved to depict a sweet cherub. The cameo is very high relieved as can be seen from the pictures. The cherub has a sweet and round face full of grace, his little nose is graciously turned up.Cherubs and angels were very popular in the Victorian Era, they were worn as jewels and often ivory cherubs were given as a gift for a new birth. Given to the new baby as a protection, just like a guardian angel.  This could be a fabulous gift for everyone, does not happen everyday to receive a Victorian antique jewel as a gift. Do not miss it.
